Liverpool : Spain's Valencia CF topped English Premier League club Everton F.C. 3-2 in a friendly match held at Goodison Park stadium here.

The first half of the game featured end-to-end action on Saturday, with each team scoring twice in the first half-hour, reports Efe.

But the La Liga side imposed some order on the contest in the second half, holding its opponent in check and getting one more goal to win its final away pre-season game.

Spanish forward Rodrigo opened the scoring for the visitors just six minutes into the game off a pass from Carlos Soler, while Turkish striker Cenk Tosun drew his squad level in the 17th minute with a shot that snuck just inside the far post.

Rodrigo struck again just five minutes later on a header off a cross by Cristiano Piccini, while English defender Michael Keane levelled the proceedings once again at the half-hour mark with a header on a corner-kick play.

Both teams remained aggressive in the second half, but a better organised defence prevented either squad's strikers from getting into advantageous positions.

Danish midfielder Daniel Wass managed to seal the victory for the visitors 15 minutes before second-half stoppage time on a counter-attack opportunity, scoring on a powerful long-range strike.

The Valencia players wore their 2018/2019 kit, which marks the 100th anniversary of the club's founding on March 18, 1919, and pays tribute to its first-ever uniform.
