Wanted sharp shooter held in Gurugram
Gurugram : The Gurugram crime branch has arrested one of the most wanted dreaded criminals of the city along with his accomplice, police said on Friday.
Amit Dagar, a sharp shooter of the Kaushal gang, was arrested by crime branch unit ten chief Sajjan Singh and his team on Dwarka expressway here along with his accomplice Anil alias Lath after a brief exchange of bullets early hours on Friday, Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) Sumit Kuhar said.
Dagar, nearly 30-years-old, who was one of the 10 most wanted gangsters on the Haryana's Special Task Force's (STF) radar, received a gun shot in one of his legs. Police had announced a reward of Rs one lakh for any clue that led to his arrest.
Kuhar said that Dagar was involved in half dozen murders and over one dozen cases of attempt to murder, extortion and other heinous crimes.
"Dagar gunned down his rival gangster Mahesh alias Attak, shot dead liquor trader Satbir Singh in Gurugram, killed Tatarpur's sarpanch (village head) Sanjay, murdered gangster Jony's mother here in a colony located on the Delhi-Gurugram expressway," Kuhar said.
Dagar, a contract killer, was also involved in the killing of revenue official in Haryana's Rewari district.
Two pistols, cartridges and an i20 car was recovered from the possession of arrested duo, DCP Kuhar added.
"We are grilling them on police remand," the officer further added.
