Woman, two children burnt to death in UP

Lucknow : A woman and her two children were burnt to death in Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur district on Wednesday when a fire broke out in their house, police said.

The fire, apparently caused by a short circuit, broke out in a house in Baria Tola village.

Sushila, 25, was watching television with her 18-month-old daughter Sapna and 45-day-old son, when the fire engulfed the room they were sitting in, leaving them with no chance to escape.

Police said the neighbours tried to douse the flames but failed.
