New Delhi : On a glittering night at the Teatro 874 in Panama, Mannat Kaur from India was named Teen Universe Asia after being classified into the Top 10 of Teen Universe 2020 International Beauty Contest.
The pageant was won by Daniela Mora of Mexico, while Maria Gabriela from USA and Davienne Bislip from CuraƧao completed the top 3. "Team India has given a great consistent performance over the years." said Alexander Montiel CEO of the Teen Universe Organisation.
"I am so happy, this is a great continued achievement for India and Mannat is going to shine a lot more" said Jasmeet Kaur, the national director of India.
"I am super happy for Mannat, I had a great time styling her for the pageant, and I am glad all our girls every year have kept the name of our country high" said Sristhi Kaur, Teen Universe 2017.
The finale gown of Mannat, designed by Melvyn Noronha, was made in the first colour of the national flag to represent courage. Mannat was bullied in her younger years and people made her asset (her height) to look like her flaw. Mannat's finale evening gown was a tribute to Mannat's courage to face her adversities and come out victorious as a beauty queen.
Mannat's national costume, also designed by Melvyn Noronha, was themed as the Kaleidoscope of Cultures, to represent India being one of the world's biggest producers of kaleidoscope instruments and to represent the fact that with every change in location of India every 5 hours, the cultures, languages or dialects change.
"I have always believed that my daughter has the potential to achieve all that she aims for" said Mr. Kripal Singh, father of Mannat. Mrs. Rubinder Kaur, mother of Mannat, was estatic as she watched her daughter shine on stage in each of the rounds after the short preparation time since her national crowning on 4th January as Teen India Universe 2020. Anhad Kaur, Mannat's sister had a great experience watching her sister undertake the tast of holding the Indian flag high.
Jasmeet Kaur, the most successful national director of Indian teenage pageants is elated with this current victory and is excited to keep the name of India high by giving young Indian girls the opportunity to win for India internationally under the mentorship of Melvyn Noronha. Registrations of Teen India Official are open online throughout the year as the quest for the glory of India continues.
