Sushmita Singh - First Asian & Indian conquerer of Miss Teen World (Mundial) Crown

New Delhi : On a fantastic show at El Salvador, Sushmita Singh from India won the title of Miss Teen World (Mundial) 2019 by Francisco Cortez, while Dominican Republic and Panama were awarded the Runner-up titles respectively. Ms. Singh was crowned by out going queen Ms. Angivette Toribio, Miss Teen Mundial 2018 from Dominican Republic.

The show which judged the girls on behaviour, intelligence, communication, fashion, fitness and glamour; was conducted over a period of 8 days where the girls attended a range of activities from public parades, mayor visits, site seeing, photoshoots, sponsor activities and charitable causes; while indulging themselves in the beauty, culture and food of the central American nation- El Salvador. Thus showing the world that El Salvador is falsely promoted by media to be a dangerous nation.

The theme of the contest was NO AL MALTRATO ANIMAL, which means NO ANIMAL ABUSE; and it's mascot, keeping in mind the theme, was "Hachiko", which the girls used as a symbol of kind behaviour towards animals and nature.

Sushmita, the 18-year-old mass media student who is a painter, sportswoman, orator and the "breaker of boundaries", touched the hearts of the audience when she responded to how she intends to serve the world if she won. "I was told I was not beautiful, but I worked hard and stood up for myself, and here I am. I want to serve as an inspiration to all girls to dare to live their dreams." She now wears a crown that is inspired by the crown of King Enrique IV of England, and will serve her commitment to the world.

To participate in this International event, Sushmita was crowned by Jasmeet Kaur, the 2019 National Director, in a contest at Noida. "I am extremely proud Sushmita has brought this victory for India. She is a well cultured girl and very hardworking, and I hope to encourage more such girls in the future" said Jasmeet. Sristhi Kaur, daughter of Jasmeet and Teen Universe 2017 said "I was very excited about Sushmita's participation in one of the biggest contests in the world. Her winning is a big victory for India."

"I feel humbled for my victory, responsible for my pageant sisters from around the world and grateful to all those who supported me at this event. Every prayer, blessing and assistance from India has been my steps towards this glorious crown and I will continue to serve the Miss Teen World (Mundial) brand to the best of my abilities." - Sushmita Singh.
