New Delhi : Domino's paid 4000 pounds as compensation to a woman who claimed that her job application was rejected based on her age and gender. Janice Walsh has said that she was asked about her age in an interview and was rejected soon after that.

According to a media report, she had gone for an interview at Domino's Pizza branch in Strabane, where she was asked about her age in the beginning. According to her, the answer was written by the interviewer in a circle with a comment – "You do not look it."

After learning that her job application has been rejected, she remembered the moment and thought of pointing this out to the company via reaching them out. To put her voice out, she contacted the Facebook page of the branch and wrote, she had been discriminated against because of her age.

Walsh took out a discrimination suit against the Domino’s branch and its owner Justin Quirk, and the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland supported her case. Quirk has since apologised and paid 4,250 pounds as compensation to Walsh.
