Jaipur : Shocking news came from Rajasthan where a four-month-old baby girl was treated with a hot iron to cure severe cough and cold. The little one was rushed to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital after her health deteriorated.

Sources confirmed that the infant is from Rama Kheda village, Bhilwara district in Rajasthan. The baby girl was branded with hot iron a couple of days ago without the knowledge of neighbours. However, the matter became public when the baby’s health worsens and was finally taken to doctor’s clinic.

The doctor said that the four-month-old was branded on her stomach and is currently under treatment. Medical reports claimed that the child is suffering from pneumonia and congenital heart disease. Dr OP Agal, ICU ward, in-charge paediatrics at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital said the baby is undergoing treatment in the ICU ward

This is a clear case of superstitious practices which is known to be common in Bhilwara village areas. Accordingly, a complaint has been registered under various IPC sections against unidentified accused by the Child Welfare Committee.  SHO Karoi police station Sunil Chaudhary said that investigation is on process. He said that such kind of case is not the first one in Bhilwara where superstitious belief is snatching out life of innocent children.
