COVID-19 positive mother watches her newborn on mobile - a heart-melting video

New Delhi : Coronavirus has brought life to a stand still, it is not sparing anyone and it became worse when a pregnant woman learned that she is coronavirus positive; she was more worried for her yet to be born kid than herself.

In COVID-19 positive pregnancy cases, it becomes a task for the doctors to ensure the safety of the baby who does not get in contact with the mother with which coronavirus can be transmitted. And imagine the emotions of a mother who could not carry her child in arms for which she desperately waited for months.

In a similar case, a coronavirus positive woman gave birth to a healthy baby in Aurangabad Civil Hospital in Maharashtra on April 18. The two had to be kept in different wards to ensure the minimum risk of transmission.

“On April 18, the baby was born by caesarean section and tested negative,” said Aurangabad Civil Surgeon Dr. Sunder Kulkarni.

However, the staff was kind enough to arrange a video call between the mother and her new born baby, as she was not able to see her child.

The emotional pictures of the video call have gone viral on the internet with many wishing that the two meet as soon as possible in good health.

“I am imagining the emotional plight of the mother who can’t hold her baby in her hands. But this is was such a sweet gesture,” commented a user.
