New Delhi : The nine-day Rajasthan Utsav concluded on Thursday, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of Delhiites with Rajasthani art, culture, handicrafts and cuisine.

Organized by RUDA, Rajasthan Tourism Department and BHMS, the Rajasthani Hot Bazaar and Rajasthan Utsav at Bikaner House, along with various programs showcasing the culture of the state, attracted a lot of domestic and foreign visitors.

The 'Rajasthan Utsav' was a grand success, with the 'Gangaaur ki Sawari' and cultural evenings entertaining the audience immensely. Dressed in traditional Rajasthani attire, women carrying 'Mangal Kalash' added to the grandeur of the festival by taking out a procession.

Principal Resident Commissioner Shri Alok said that through such festivals, the Government of Rajasthan wants to make Bikaner House in New Delhi a 'Gateway of Rajasthan' and a showcase for Rajasthani art and culture.

Shri Om Prakash of RUDA said that during the festival, national and state award-winning artisans from different regions of Rajasthan set up 35 stalls at the Rajasthani Haat Bazaar held at the Bikaner House complex. They attracted a lot of visitors with their live demonstrations of art, clothing and food.

Shri Mayank Joshi of RUDA said that while visitors bought a lot of products made by Rajasthani artisans at this Haat Bazaar, such as Kota Doria, Sanganeri print, Bangaru print, Mojdi, Jaipur bangles, jewellery, clay pots, paintings, etc., they also enjoyed delicious Rajasthani delicacies like Dal-Baati-Churma, Mirchi Pakoda etc.

He said that during this seven-day Rajasthan Utsav, the bumper sale of artisans at this Rajasthani Haat Bazaar, set up by RUDA, was over 24 lakhs, which is a record sale in itself.
