New Delhi : People travelling to Delhi from five states, including Maharashtra, Kerala and Punjab, will be asked to present Coronavirus negative report upon their arrival. The measures have been taken amid rising number of coronavirus cases in these states.

An official order regarding the same will be issued by Thursday. The new regulation will remain effective from February 26 to March 15.

A discussion on the same was held during a meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on Monday.

Maharashtra has been reporting a sudden surge in the number of coronavirus cases since the local trains were opened for commute of local people. Kerala on the other hand is also contributing to a large number of new coronavirus cases. Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Chandigarh also have significant number of new COVID-19 infection cases across the nation.

More than 10,000 daily new coronavirus cases are being reported in India.
