New Delhi : Couple of days before Diwali, the operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport Terminal 1 resumed 18 months after they were shut due to coronavirus lockdown.

The official Twitter handle of Delhi airport also shared a video of first scheduled flight that arrived on Terminal 1 on Sunday.

The first flight scheduled from T1 after its reopening was an Indigo flight that departed for Mumbai at 0105 hours.

The terminal 1 airport operations were closed on March 25, 2020 when India had announced a nationwide lockdown. Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) had on Friday announced that it will resume flight operations at its T1 terminal from October 31 onwards.

So far, the flights were operating from Terminal 3 and Terminal 2 since the flight operations resumed.

The operations at Terminal 1 will resume with pre-COVID operators IndiGo and Spice Jet, DIAL had said.
