New Delhi : In a much relief for passengers travelling from India to Dubai or using Dubai as their transit destination, they are no more required to do mandatory rapid PCR test hours before boarding the flight.

The newly updated guidelines are applicable to passengers coming from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Dubai will now only require a coronavirus negative report taken within 48 hours of the travel. Meanwhile, Indian passengers will have to go through a mandatory coronavirus test on arrival and they will need to follow COVID guidelines if tested positive.

For passengers using Dubai as a transit location, the rules governing their final destination will be implemented.

With the revision in guidelines, passengers who visit Dubai frequently will be highly benefited. A News Heads reader Apoorva said that she had been planning to visit Dubai for a long time but with restrictions in place she cancelled her plan several times, but now she may soon plan a vacation in Dubai.

Meanwhile, India today recorded a little more than 13,000 coronavirus cases.
