New Delhi : A group of Ola and Uber drivers on Monday went on strike, demanding fare hike. The cab aggregator services have been affected in many parts of the national capital due to this. It has been learned that the drivers want base fare to be fixed at Rs 100.

Currently, the base fare has been fixed to Rs 30-35 and Rs 6-7 are charged for subsequent kilometer run as a minimum.

According to a news report by India.com, an OLA driver said, “We are provided Rs 6-7 per kilometer which is even less than that the auto drivers are getting. We are doing this protest so that the company issues a rise in the base fare and we will keep protesting until the fare is hiked, even if it takes weeks we will continue our protest.”

With strike happening on a weekday, many daily commuters, who rely on cab services, are facing issues and are traveling with metro and auto rickshaws. Check out some of the social media reactions are below:

The strike may extend for around a week if the demands of the drivers are not met.
