Earth would love to get invaded by aliens, say scientists

New Delhi : Instead of getting panicked, humans will actually feel happy if the Earth gets invaded by aliens, says a new study.

Fictional movies may have shown aliens invading Earth with guns, fight and what not but the serious research results into something exactly opposite. According to results of a new study, 'earthlings' are far more positive about thought of meeting an alien life.

People will be happy to see someone from not our planet, said a professor of Psychology Michael Varnum. He added, "So far, there's been a lot of speculation about how we might respond to this kind of news, but until now, almost no systematic empirical research."

In order to learn the reaction from people on this, they asked some chosen people to read news about finding an alien life on Earth.

Their reactions were positive, found researchers.

And additional research looked at one of the most famous pieces of news about the potential of alien life in recent weeks. Scientists had people read about the suggestion that a a rock flying past Earth – known as Oumuamua – could in fact be an alien spacecraft, in news that sounded like something out of science fiction.

It found that people were very excited about that possibility, despite the fact it could mean aliens were headed towards Earth.
