Baffled NASA scientists begins puzzle over mysterious ice hole circles in Arctic

New Delhi : Its been over a decade that NASA scientists are flying over the Earth's Arctic and Antarctic regions and in a latest, they have observed a random pattern of ice holes and they are clueless about what is causing them.

The scientists have been scrutinising the area to understand the effect of global warming on world's coldest parts. The missions have a name straight out of a James Bond novel: Operation IceBridge.

During the operation, the scientists located three amoeba-shaped holes on the ice sheet located in Arctic.

"We saw these sorta-circular features only for a few minutes today," IceBridge mission scientist John Sonntag, the man who snapped the photo, wrote from the field. "I don't recall seeing this sort of thing elsewhere."

On failing to understand what is causing such rare phenomenon, the NASA scientists posted a picture of the mysterious ice holes as the April 2018 Puzzler, a monthly contest in which NASA asks viewers to describe a mysterious pictured object.

The post, however, never mentions that NASA's scientists are among the puzzled.

"Your challenge," the contest rules say, "is to use the comments section to tell us what we are looking at and why this place is interesting."

Users are answering their predictions with some claiming them to be an indication of aliens coming to Earth. But, the truth will come only after an extensive research and time. Till then, you can post your logical prediction in the comment box below.
