The speculations of life on red dwarf star known as Ross 128 and discovery of alien

New Delhi : The speculations of life on red dwarf star known as Ross 128 and discovery of alien spread through the internet like fire.

These speculations were made on the basis of ‘Peculiar signals’ coming which was seen noticed from a start just 11 light years away, reported by scientists in Puerto Rico.

This mystery was spread across the internet, where as astronomers tried their best to put these speculations to rest.

According to The Deccan Chronicle, in a blog post by Abel Mendez, who is the director of the Planetary Habitability Laboratory at the University of Puerto Rico at Arecibo said, "In case you are wondering, the recurrent aliens hypothesis is at the bottom of many other better explanations,"

These speculations were made when something unusual came to light in April and May, when the team was busy studying a series of small and relatively cool red dwarf stars, out of which some are known to have planets circling them.

Abel Mendez further wrote,"we realized that there were some very peculiar signals in the 10-minute dynamic spectrum that we obtained from Ross 128. And consisted of broadband quasi-periodic non-polarized pulses with very strong dispersion-like features. We believe that the signals are not local radio frequency interferences (RFI) since they are unique to Ross 128 and observations of other stars immediately before and after did not show anything similar."

The three main possibilities to explain this burst can be,

• They could be emissions similar to solar flares.

• They could be emissions from another object in the field of view of Ross 128.

• Or they might be a burst from a high orbit satellite, Mendez wrote.

Mendez said that these signals are too dim to be picked by other radio telescopes in the world, the scientists at the Arecibo Observatory along with the astronomers from SETI would be using the Allen Telescope Array and the Green Bank Telescope to observe the star for the second time.

Also, the results of these observations will be posted by the end of the week.
