India's ISRO space achievements till date

New Delhi : Formed in 1969, Indian Space Research Organisation ( ISRO) is a prestigious space agency of India. It aims to "harness space technology for national development while pursuing space science research and planetary exploration." The agency boasts the robust knowledge of Indian scientists in space technology. In this article, we will talk about the achievement of ISRO till date.

List of ISRO space achievements

In 2007, ISRO achieved Indian Launch Vehicle Technology through the Space Capsule Recovery Experiment Mission SRE-1 which established India’s technological capability to recover an orbiting satellite.

On November 5, 2013, the agency launched India's first inter planetary mission, the Mars Orbiter Spacecraft 

ISRO's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) has set a record by launching 24 flights to access the space. The versatile vehicle PSLV has been successfully used for launching lighter communication and navigation satellites into GTO

In October 2008, ISRO launched India’s maiden moon exploration mission ‘Chandrayaan-1’ for mapping the lunar surface with high resolution remote sensing and study the chemical and mineralogical composition. 

On January 5, 2014, the agency successfully tested indigenous cryogenic stage onboard GSLV-D5 Flight is capable of placing 2 Tonne class communication satellite into Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) 

In 2014, India made history by becoming the first Asian nation to reach Mars with Mangalyaan.

 In 2017, India launched a record 104 satellites in one blast-off.

For now, the next big projects of ISRO are second mission to the moon and a solar mission. Aditya-L1, the mission is expected to make observations of the sun's properties.
