The moon mission by Japan suspended again amid bad weather condition
New Delhi : Japan on Monday postponed its scheduled launch of rocket carrying the moon lander amid weather condition not in favour. This is the third time when the launch has been delayed by Japan.
The H2-A, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency’s most reliable heavy payload rocket, was originally scheduled to lift off on Saturday, but it was delayed for Sunday and then to Monday for the same reason - bad weather.
30-minute before the scheduled launch, the Japan Space Agency once again delayed it.
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd., which has mainly constructed and is responsible for launch of the rocket, has not officially announced the next date of launch.
Once the rocket launches, Japan will become the fifth nation in the world to attempt a lunar exploration after the United States, Russia, China and India.
Last week, Russia's lander crashed on the lunar after its space agency lost control of it. Meanwhile, India became the first nation to land on the south pole region of the moon successfully; also, the fourth natio to successfully land on moon.
