The Indian Navy's search-and-rescue operations and humanitarian assistance in the aftermath of cyclone Ockhi continued on Thursday, with nine naval ships and four types of aircraft participating.

The fishermen community here on Sunday decided to launch their own rescue operations as 55 boats ventured into the sea to search for the 115 missing fishermen.

The rescue operations jointly launched by the Indian Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard after Cyclone Ockhi hit the southern districts of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, resumed on Saturday with 102 Kerala fishermen yet to return home, a top state official said.
