Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad will be jailed for 14 years in the fourth fodder scam case he has been convicted in, with a special CBI court here on Saturday sentencing him to seven years each in two cases under it, and ordering the sentences run consecutively.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has been sentenced to three and half years in jail. The CBI special court announced the verdict via video conferencing and fined Lalu Prasad Yadav with Rs 5 lakh.

A special CBI court on Wednesday issued notices to former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejshvi Yadav and three others over their statements regarding RJD chief Lalu Prasad's conviction in the fodder scam case.

In a setback for RJD supremo Lalu Prasad, the Supreme Court on Monday set aside a Ranchi High Court ruling and ordered that he and two others be tried in the remaining five fodder scam cases.
