Ethiopia's transport minister has said that according to data received from the black box of Ethiopian Airlines jet crashed last week, there are similarities with the crash of the same type of plane in Indonesia in October.

Indonesian search teams on Monday recovered the cockpit voice recorder of the Lion Air aircraft which had crashed into the Java Sea in October, killing all 189 people on board, including the flight's Indian captain.

Preliminary investigations suggest that a Lion Air Flight 610 boeing 737 Max may have crashed due to faulty sensors which alert pilots of any upcoming emergency with the aircraft.

Indonesian search and rescue teams on Tuesday widened the search area as they looked for the fuselage, black boxes and victims of the Lion Air plane that crashed in the Java Sea a day earlier with 189 people on board.

Moments before the Lion Airlines operated plane crashed into sea waters the pilot had made a chilling call for help, asking permission to return on the airport.
