A NASA satellite has located an Earth-sized habitable world within its star's; it is likely that the planet might be having water on it.

"It’s so exciting that TESS, which launched just about a year ago, is already a game-changer in the planet-hunting business," said Johanna Teske, Carnegie Institution for Science in the US.

NASA's popular Kepler space telescope has put itself into rest mode after getting the final commands from the Earth. The telescope has discovered thousands of planets outside our solar system and revealed that our galaxy contains more planets than stars. Here's now that it has received its final set of commands to disconnect communications with Earth. And, it’s the “goodnight” commands which finalise the spacecraft’s transition into retirement.

NASA's planet-hunting telescope has discovered two earth-like planets beyond our solar system. The orbital telescope has been launched five months ago from Cape Canaveral, Florida and within a short time it has come up with such a big discovery. Now that the earth-like planet has been discovered, the question uproots like if life is possible out there.

After a successful launch in April this year, NASA's newest planet hunter, the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS), has now started its search for planets around nearby stars.

Loaded on Falcon 9 rocket, SpaceX on Thursday launched TESS - NASA's new planet-hunting orbital telescope designed to track exoplanets beyond our solar system.

Soon after informing about that the Kepler Space Telescope which will run out of fuel within several months, NASA has made an official announcement about the launch of its next planet-hunting spacecraft. The spacecraft will be launched on April 16.
