British telecom giant Vodafone's chief executive Nick Read has claimed that the situation in India are getting trickier for the company. He claimed that a lot of capital has been invested in India and he is still hopeful that things will get changed in positive manner.

Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd said that there is no move by the government to provide financial relief to rival telecom operators, claiming that they have adequate resource to funds.

Vodafone has introduced an annual unlimited calling and data plan for its prepaid customers. Amid revisions in existing plans, the telecom operator has launched an yearly plan of Rs 1499, valid for 365 days.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is all set to approve merger of Vodafone and Idea on Monday. The move will create the country's largest mobile service operator with proposed name of Vodafone Idea Ltd.

During the announcement of top deck in the Vodafone-Idea merged entity, a regulatory filing the entity said that Kumar Mangalam Birla will be the non-executive chairman of the merged company. According to a BSE filing by Idea Cellular held on Thursday, the current Chief Operating Officer of Vodafone India Balesh Sharma will become the Chief Executive of the combined business.

Vodafone has announced two new plans to attract the users with unlimited calling and internet. In the two plans announced, one is aimed for a long validity while the other comes for a duration of 28 days.

Sticking to its earlier stand, the Indian telecom regulator on Wednesday recommended penal action against three operators -- Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular -- for not providing adequate points of interconnections (PoI) to newcomer Reliance Jio.
