After President, I am the most popular Afghani: Rashid Khan

New Delhi : Rashid Khan is riding high on success post recently-concluded Indian Premier League 2018 edition. In a recent statement, he claimed that he is the second most famous Afghani after his president.

According to The Times Of India, he feels he is only second to the Afghan President when it comes to popularity in Afghanistan. 

The Nangarhar-born picked up 21 wickets in 17 matches and helped his team reach the finals, only to emerge second best against Chennai Super Kings, the eventual winners.

Afganistan President Hamid Karzai also congratulated him for his brilliant performance in the game.

Karzai tweeted: "I take immense pride in the exceptional talents of our @rashidkhan_19. His remarkable success in #cricket promotes the spirit of patriotism and endeavor in our youth. We are fortunate and happy to have him. HK"
