Anushka Sharma consoles Virat Kohli with a hug after India's defeat in the World Cup final

Ahmedabad : Team India had to see an undesired defeat against Australia in the World Cup final. This has shattered many dreams and also left Team India disheartened with their performance. While the whole nation is showering their love on the players for their tremendous show during the tournament, Anushka Sharma came up with a special hug to console Virat Kohli after India's six-wicket defeat in the ODI World Cup 2023 final.

Talking about Virat Kohli, his performance was exceptional throughout the tournament; Starting from the first game till last one, Virat Kohli performed consistently for Team India. He had scored nine 50-plus scores in the competition and also broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record with the 50th ODI hundred. He finished the tournament with 765 runs.

In the final game of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, Team India faced six-wicket defeat against Australia, who lifted their sixth World Cup title.

Put in to bat, India ended up with a below-par 240 despite contributions from Rohit Sharma (47 off 31 balls), Virat Kohli (54 off 63) and K L Rahul (66 off 107). In response, Australia successfully chased the target of 240 runs in 43 overs.
