Ashwin creates history in the home season

New Delhi : It was another series win for the Indian side in the home series. First, it was South Africa, then New Zealand, England, Bangladesh and now Australia. India has beaten every side convincingly on its backyard.

Ravichandran Ashwin has been the most devastating bowler in the home series. With the series win Viart has 7 consecutive series win just two behind Ricky Pointing. Ashwin claimed 82 wickets in the home series to surpass Dale Steyn’s 78 wickets in a season in 07-08.

In the 13 Test played this season, Ashwin claimed 82, which helped him to register his name to the record books.

 

For the first time a bowler has claimed more than 80 wickets in a season. Ashwin was well assisted by Jadeja and Ishant in the home series.
