New Delhi : The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president Jay Shah has officially announced the much awaited schedule for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. The India vs Pakistan match has been scheduled for September 2.

The tournament opener of the Asia Cup 2023 will now take place in Multan, featuring Pakistan against Nepal on August 30, a day ahead of the initial schedule. Zaka Ashraf, the Chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), will announce the complete schedule of the Asia Cup 2023 and unveil the prestigious trophy on Wednesday at 7:45 PM IST.

As reported earlier, Asia Cup 2023 will be played on a hybrid model with Pakistan as hosts. A total of four matches will be played in Pakistan and the remaining nine matches of the tournament will be played in Sri Lanka. Besides Multan, Lahore will host three games – Bangladesh vs Afghanistan, Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan and one Super Four match.



The Asia Cup 2023 will commence in Sri Lanka, with the first match taking place in Kandy. Bangladesh will kick off their tournament against the home team on August 31. Following that, the highly anticipated India vs. Pakistan match will be held. India's next game will be against Nepal on September 4. This year, the tournament will be played in the 50-overs format.

In the group stage, India has been placed in Group A alongside Pakistan and Nepal. On the other hand, Group B consists of Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Fours stage. Eventually, the top two teams from the Super Fours will compete in the final, which will be held in Colombo on September 17.
