New Delhi : India is playing the Test series against Australia these days and Australian side has been criticising Indian side for making pitches which are not good and favourable for the game. BCCI has changed the venue for the 3rd Test match in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023.

Match was earlier scheduled to happen at HPCA Stadium, Dharamshala from 1st to 5th March, but the game has now been shifted to Holkar stadium in Indore.

It must be noted that the HP Stadium has only hosted one Test match in 2017 between India and Australia. Since then it has only hosted T 20 IS and ODIs frequently, but no Test match. The HPCA had planned to relay the entire outfield after the monsoon. But, it looks like the work has not been completed and considering the weather situation, the venue will not be suitable to hold the five-day game.

On Monday, BCCI confirmed the news and announced the change of venue for the 3rd Test match.

"The third Test of the Mastercard Australia tour of India for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, originally scheduled to take place at the HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala from 1st to 5th March has now been moved to Holkar Stadium, Indore," said BCCI.

"Owing to harsh winter conditions in the region, the outfield lacks sufficient grass density and will need some time to develop fully.” BCCI concluded.

In the first Test match, Rohit Sharma-led Team India had beaten Australia by an inning and 132 runs. Now, India will be playing their second Test match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi from February 17th to 21st. India is currently leading the 4 match Test series 1-0.
