Confirmed! Mahendra Singh Dhoni retirement reports not true

London : India is all set to play their last league match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 on July 06 against Sri Lanka before they finalise if they will be facing England or New Zealand in the semi finals.

But, the topic of interest since last few days is speculation that former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni will retire with the last game of team India in the ongoing World Cup tournament.

A couple of media reports speculated that MSD will hang his boots and is also giving hints of his retirement.

Now, in a report by ABP news channel, a reporter claimed to have confronted Dhoni himself with the retirement question.

"I don't know when I will retire. But a lot of people want me to retire before tomorrow's game," Dhoni told ABP News.

The report also clarified that the 'people' mentioned by Dhoni are not the ones from BCCI or team but they are the media people who have been doing speculated reports over his retirement.

Earlier a PTI report had said that India's last match at the World Cup could well turn out to be MS Dhoni's swan song in India colours.

"You never know with MS Dhoni. But it is unlikely that he will continue to play for India after this World Cup. But since his decisions to quit captaincy from the three formats have been taken so suddenly, it is very difficult to predict at the moment," a senior BCCI official told PTI.
