Adelaide : Ajinkya Rahane's attitude of putting 'team-first' came to light with his reaction towards Ravindra Jadeja after he got run out on Day 3 of second Test against Australia without much of his fault.

Ravindra Jadeja was on 49 runs when he defended a delivery from Nathan Lyon and instantly ran for a single; it was a tight call but Ajinkya Rahane ran for it. He almost made it but replays showed his bat was on the crease and was given out.

The run out ended Ajinkya Rahane's fine innings on 112; in normal scenario a batsman must have gone mad for taking a quick single in no pressure situation, but this was not the case here, Rahane went up to Jadeja and tapped him to motivate to go for a big inning from there.

Rahane's gesture impressed many social media users who showered praise for him; here are some of the reactions:

Interestingly, Virat Kohli got run out in the first Test match when Ajinkya Rahane was on the other end. He had apologized to Kohli for the event.

“It was a tough one. We were going really going well at that time. After the day’s play, I went up to him and said sorry and he was all okay. Such things happen cricket, we got to move on,” Rahane had said before the start of the Boxing Day Test.

Talking about the game, India has secured a commanding position in the match as they acquired a lead of more than 100 runs on Day 3 of the game in their first innings.
