"Do not lose hope, have faith": Sachin Tendulkar on Easter message

New Delhi : India celebrated Easter at home amid coronavirus lockdown this year. Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar took the opportunity to greet his fans on the occasion and also spread positive message of hope for good times.

In his tweet, Sachin Tendulkar acknowledged that the world is going through the tough times and Easter teaches us to have faith and hope. He also mentioned that nothing lasts forever.

"Easter reminds us to never lose hope and have faith. There will always be light at the end of the tunnel. We shall overcome these challenging times together through our prayers and our mental and physical strength as a country. Happy Easter everyone!," Sachin tweeted.

Easter marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ following his crucifixion on Good Friday. It also marks the culmination of Lent, a 40-day period of fasting and penance.

While, the nation is reeling through the tough times, the churches have been closed on Easter.

Till date India has registered more than 8000 coronavirus cases. Of these, 716 have been cured and discharged, and 273 have succumbed to the virus.
