First Test: India thrash South Africa by 203 runs, all thanks to Shami and Jadeja

Vizag : A five-wicket haul of Mohammed Shami and four wickets by Ravindra Jadeja handed Team India a confortable 203-run victory over South Africa in the first Test match. Virat Kohli-led Team India now leads the three match series 1-0.

It was a match that India dominated from the beginning, opener Rohit Sharma scored twin centuries while Mayank Agarwal converted his maiden century into a double hundred. Ravichandran Ashwin picked up his 27th 5-wicket haul while also becoming the joint-fastest bowler to claim 350 Test scalps.

South Africa, on the other hand, saw a minor support from the Dean Elgar and Quinton de Kock, but they looked completely helpless in the second innings.

South Africa will now be looking forward to come up with more preparations when they come to face India in the second Test match in Pune which begins on October 10.
