Gabba Test: India scripts history against Australia, clinches series 2-1

Adelaide : With India chasing down massive 328 runs target in the second innings of Gabba Test, the team has scripted history and their performance will be remembered for years. Team India won the game by three wickets to clinch the series 2-1.

Shubham Gill (91), Rishabh Pant (89*) and Cheteshwar Pujara (56) emerged out as stars who smartly engineered victory for their team. India has become the first team to beat Australia in Gabba since 1988.

India resumed their chase from 4/0; Rohit Sharma lost his wicket a little early as the scorecard read 18/1. That was the moment when Australia thought they have started the game well and may steer the match in their favour.

Cheteshwar Pujara played a knock which reminded of former cricketer Rahul Dravid, who is also known as The Wall. Shubham Gill, on the other hand, steadily led the chase forward. He scored his yet another half century.

He was looking in form and was about to get his ton as Nathan Lyon struck his wicket when he was playing at 91.

At one point, it appeared that the match is heading for a draw but India had other plans. In the final hour of the game, Indian batsmen increased the pace and won the game by three wickets.

Rishabh Pant scored brilliant 89 runs to ensure India’s victory.
