Gautam Gambhir explicates this was Virat Kohli's best innings
New Delhi : Ever since he made his debut in the international cricket in 2008, Virat Kohli has played several knocks which ensured victory for India. However, it is very difficult to pick one inning as the best inning of a player like Virat Kohli; former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir tried to pick one.
In a video shared by Star Sports on its official Twitter handle, Gautam Gambhir picked Kohli's 183 not out against Pakistan in Asia Cup 2012 as one of his greatest innings.
Gautam Gambhir acknowledged that Virat has played many brilliant innings but explained why he has chosen this as his best innings. Virat scored 183 runs at a time when the team was in extreme pressure because of losing early wickets during the chase of mammoth 330 runs.
"Virat Kohli has played many unbelievable innings across the three formats, but this is one of his greatest innings from all points of view," Gambhir said on Star Sports show 'Best of Asia Cup Watch along'.
He also mentioned that Virat Kohli's 183-run knock must also get praised because at that time he was new and did not had much of an experience of international cricket.
"First of all we were chasing 330, then India was 0/1, and then scoring 183 out of the 330 runs, that too against Pakistan, and that time, he was not that experienced too. According to me, I think probably this is one of Virat Kohli's greatest innings, honestly," added Gambhir, who top scored for India in the final of 2011 World Cup.
