New Delhi : Indian skipper Hardik Pandya slammed pitches used in the ongoing T20 series against New Zealand and tagged the Lucknow one as a "shocker". India managed a win over New Zealand by 6 wickets in Lucknow to level the three-match T20I series 1-1.

Hardik Pandya said that the team was sure enough to finish the game in their favour and it was more about rotating the strike than taking the pressure. And this was exactly what Team India did, sticking to basics.

He slammed the Lucknow pitch and said called it a 'shocker' of the pitches and said that it was not appropriate for the T20I games.

"To be honest, it was a shocker of a wicket. Both the games we have played on so far. I don't mind difficult wickets. I am all up for that, but these two wickets are not made for T20. Somewhere down the line the curators or the grounds that we are going to play in should make sure they prepare the pitches earlier," Pandya added.

Talking about the game, Indian side restricted New Zealand to just 99/8 in the first innings. Men in Blue achieved the target with six wickets in spare and one ball remaining.

India have now leveled the three-match T20I series 1-1, with the third and final game of the series set to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on February 1.
