India beat Pakistan by seven wickets, Jemimah reacts after stunner | Women T20 World Cup

New Delhi : Team India has a scripted history as they beat Pakistan by 7 wickets in the Women T20 World Cup clash on Sunday. Jemimah Rodrigues played an unbeaten knock off 53 runs along with Richa Ghosh who scored 31 runs, leading India to victory with an over remaining in the match.

Riding on brilliant performances by Bismah Maroof (68 not out off 55) and Ayesha Naseem (43 not out off 25), Pakistan posted a competitive total of 149-4 in the stipulated 20 overs.

Shafali Verma along with Yastika Bhatia gave India a stable start in the opening match of T20 World Cup. India’s star batter Smriti Mandhana was not playing in the game as she had received an injury in her hand. The opening pair added 38 runs for the first wicket before Yastika was given out in the final over of the power play.

Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues then try to build up another partnership, but Pakistan struck in the 10th over again to send Verma back in the pavilion. While Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah fought back for a bit, Nashra Sandhu sent back Kaur in the 14th over to give Pakistan a massive boost.

From there Jemimah and Richa play the game of their life and took the Indian side to the victory.

After winning the game, Jemimah shared her reaction on Twitter. She shared some pictures from the match and captioned the post as "God is faithful".
