India vs New Zealand, 3rd T20I: Rohit Sharma's heroics hands India series against Kiwis

New Delhi : New Zealand lost their third T20I against India in a super over battle, resulting in the latter taking unassailable lead in the five match series.

A well-played innings from New Zealand captain Kane Williamson was not enough for New Zealand to register a win against India in the third T20I in Hamilton, both the teams scored exact same runs in the decided 20 overs.

In the Super Over, Kane Williamson scored four boundaries in last four deliveries to set a target of 18 runs against India. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul came in to bat for India, and Rohit, who was India's top scorer in the match, smoked two sixes off the last two deliveries to win a thriller for the visitors.

Batting first India started well and scored 179 runs. Chasing the target of 180 runs, New Zealand also managed the same numbers despite an aggressive game by Kane Williamson; he scored 95 runs in just 48 balls.

New Zealand needed two runs of three deliveries, but Mohammad Shami bowled beautifully to deny New Zealand a run off the last ball, taking the match to the Super Over.
