India vs West Indies, 3rd T20: Men in Blue thrash Caribbean, claim series 2-1

Mumbai : Team India's openers were in their best forms when they came to bat against West Indies in the third and final T20I game at Wankhede stadium in Mumbai.

Virat Kohli led men in blue thrashed the guest team with 67 runs in the final game to claim the series 2-1. KL Rahul scored a brilliant 91 runs off 56 balls, Rohit Sharma scored 71 runs off just 34 balls and captain Kohli hammered 70 runs in just 30 balls, taking India's total to 240 runs for the loss of 3 wickets.

With a massive asking run rate of 12 since the beginning, the West Indies side could only manage to score 173 runs for the loss of 8 wickets with Mohammed Shami (2/25 in 4 overs) enjoying a good outing in his first game of the series.

While West Indies completely failed in getting the command on the game, Kieron Pollard's five sixes were a little respite for the guest team.

In fact, any hopes of a competitive game was over when Kohli smashed 27 off Pollard in the 19th over of the innings as it included three sixes and a four. A over before that, 17 were taken off Williams. West Indies started their chase with a handicap as Evin Lewis was ruled out after sustaining an on-field knee injury.

Brief Scores: India 240/3 (KL Rahul 91 off 56 balls, Rohit Sharma 71 off 34 balls, Virat Kohli 70 not out off 29 balls). West Indies 173/8 (Kieron Pollard 68 off 39 balls, Mohammed Shami 2/25 in 4 overs, Deepak Chahar 2/20 in 4 overs).
