Bengaluru : It was raining runs in Bengaluru on Sunday night when Sunrisers Hyderabad fought against Virat Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final match of Indian Premier League 2016.

Winning toss Sunrisers Hyderabad opted to bat first against good-in-form Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli landed on field with just one motive of finishing the game up as soon as possible. With almost every second ball crossing boundary rope, the opening pair once took game out from Hyderabad but things changed after 10th over when Gayle lost his wicket for 67 runs.

RCB's victory was in Virat Kohli and ABD's hand but soon they were also resting with other teammates. Virat Kohli (54) did provide some ray of hope but things slipped in favour of Hyderabad who managed to clinch the title by 8-run victory.

Before tonight's title clash, the RCB had made two final appearances in the IPL, losing both (in 2009 to the Deccan Chargers and in 2011 to the Chennai Super Kings).
