MS Dhoni to remain unavailable for South Africa T20I series
New Delhi : Former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni will not be available to play against South Africa in three-match T20I series starting from September 15.
The news has been confirmed by India Today from its sources. "He won't be available to play these games," a source said.
The management will be announcing the squad for T20I series and Test series against South Africa in the first week of September.
A report quoting sources close to selection committee said the selectors would largely stick to the T20 team that did well in West Indies and Dhoni won't be picked.
From past one and a half month, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has not been seen in cricketing action as he firstly served his duties for fifteen days with Indian Territorial Army in his capacity of Hon Lieutenant colonel. Currently, he is in the USA for a Chennai Super Kings event.
While he is missing from the team, Rishabh Pant has replaced his position and has been performing with the gloves in both ODIs as well the T20I matches.
