Ro'hitman' Sharma one step away to leave Viv Richards behind for 'unique ODI record'

New Delhi : Indian opener Rohit Sharma is just a century away from creating history in Australia. In the upcoming ODI series, Rohit Sharma has great chance of scripting a unique ODI record where he can leave behind legendary Viv Richards. Both the players have scored three centuries against Australia in Australia.

Rohit Sharma has achieved the feat in just 16 matches, whereas Viv Richards scored three centuries in 40 matches. Following is the list of players who have scored centuries in Australia.

The three-match ODI series against Australia will start from January 12 in Sydney. The second and third match will be played at Adelaide and Melbourne on January 15 and 18 respectively.

Last year during the T20I series versus Windies, Rohit went past Virat Kohli and Martin Guptill to become the highest run-scorer in the world in the shortest format of the game.
