Mumbai : Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar has turned 47 on April 24, 2020; the cricket legend has decided not to celebrate his birthday this time due to COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown in the nation.

Sachin Tendulkar has been actively promoting the awareness about coronavirus and precautions via small videos on the social media platform. He also made a generous donation of Rs 50,00,000 for coronavirus circumstances and also pledged to provide ration to 5000 people in Mumbai for one month.

Talking about celebrating the day, he told Sportstar, "I won’t be celebrating my birthday this year. Given the circumstances, I don’t think it’s right time to celebrate anything."

Tendulkar hasn't gone out to meet friends or relatives since March 15.

"Every time the government wanted us to explain its directives, we have done that as well. I have been in talks with some of our business partners to spread the message about the prevailing situation to those in their organisations. Also, for the first time, I have been able to work with the medical fraternity. I spent around 45 minutes talking to them about my experiences," he added.

Sachin Tendulkar retired from all forms of cricket seven years ago but is still regarded as the best batsman to have ever played the game of cricket notching up a whooping 15,921 runs in 200 Tests and 18.426 runs in 463 ODIs at a remarkable strike rate of 86.2.
