Sexist Remark on 'Koffee with Karan': BCCI issues show cause notice to Pandya, Rahul

New Delhi : BCCI on Wednesday issued a show cause notice to Indian cricketers Harik Pandya and KL Rahul for their comments on women on the famous TV show 'Koffee with Karan'.

The comments triggered a massive outrage on the social media prompting the board to bar players from making such appearances on the TV shows.

"We have sent show cause notices to Hardik Pandya and K L Rahul for their comments. They have been given 24 hours to give an explanation," Chairman of the Committee of Administrators that runs the BCCI, Vinod Rai, told PTI.

Hardik Pandya issued an apology on Wednesday over comments which have been tagged as 'sexist', 'racist' and 'misogynistic'. “After reflecting on my comments on Koffee with Karan, I would like to apologise to everyone concerned who I may have hurt in any way. Honestly, I got a bit carried away with the nature of the show. In no way did I mean to disrespect or hurt anyone’s sentiments. Respect,” he wrote on his Twitter page. See Tweet below:
