New Delhi : Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly is likely to become the new President of Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI), said a news report.

At present, the BCCI is headed by CK Khanna.

The news report by ANI quoted a source from the cricket association, speaking on the condition of anonymity, saying that we have decided that Sourav Ganguly will be our new President.

October 14 is the last date of filing nominations for the BCCI elections which is scheduled to take place on October 23.

Earlier, it was reported that eight out of 32 units have been barred by the BCCI to attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on October 23.

Sourav Ganguly will be representing Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) at the event. Rajat Sharma and Mohammed Azharuddin will attend as the representatives of Delhi and District Cricket Association DDCA and Hyderabad Cricket Association, respectively.
