This is why Rishabh Pant failed to make a cut in world cup squad
New Delhi : Despite his good form and brilliant knocks recently, the selectors made a tough call to not include Rishabh Pant in the playing world cup Indian squad.
One of the main BCCI selectors MSK Prasad said that Dinesh Kartik was preferred over Rishabh Pant due to his wicket keeping skills. He also made clear that Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Kartik only had chance to play if MSD gets injured.
Sunil Gavaskar, on the other hand, showed disappointment over the decision and said Rishabh Pant is in a great form these days and he must have got a chance to play for team India in the world cup.
Announcing the name of 15-men squad for team India, the selectors made it clear that Dinesh Kartik will get a chance to be in playing 11 only if MSD does not play a game; they clarified that since he had better skills to go through pressure situation, Dinesh was preferred over Rishabh.
They also mentioned that Rishabh is a very talented player and he still have a lot of time to play for team India.
