Mumbai : Skipper Virat Kohli has become the first Indian cricketer who has over 70 million followers on social media Instagram. With a humongous fan count on several social media platforms, Virat Kohli is also the fourth sportsperson to reach the number globally.

Overall, the 31-year-old Kohli is behind Portugal’s football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo (232 million), Barcelona legend Lionel Messi (161 million), and Brazil’s footballer Neymar (140 million). Kohli recently overtook NBA superstar LeBron James (69 million).

Interestingly, Virat Kohli is the only sportsman to feature in top 10 most followed Indians on Instagram.

For quite some time, the Indian captain has been enjoying his top spot in the coveted list on Instagram. While he remains at the numero uno position, the second-most followed Indian is actress Priyanka Chopra (55 million).

Virat Kohli keeps his fans engaged on social media with his regular posts on his lifestyle, fitness and other fun moments with friends and family.

Kohli is also among the leading earners from his sponsored posts on Instagram. According to a list released by ‘Attain’ last month, Kohli earned 379,294 pounds (approx Rs. 3.6 crore) from his sponsored posts on the social media site between March and May.
