Will Dhoni play ICC World Cup T20? Ask him, responds Sourav Ganguly
New Delhi : New BCCI President Sourav Ganguly responded to a big question on former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni's participation in the upcoming ICC World Cup T20 during a press conference.
The BCCI president gave a straight forward reply to consult with M S Dhoni on the decision he has to make. He has not been a part of any game since India lost the semi-final game during ICC World Cup 2019.
“Please ask Dhoni,” Ganguly’s responded when a scribe asked about the possibility of Dhoni featuring in the prestigious ICC event.
Sourav Ganguly was addressing the press conference after the Board’s 88th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Mumbai on Sunday.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni had earlier said that he himself would not answer this question till January 2020.
National selection committee chairman MSK Prasad has already made it clear that the panel has “moved on” and Dhoni is aware of its intent to blood youngsters such as Rishabh Pant keeping in mind the T20 World Cup in Australia.
Dhoni led India to two world titles — the 2007 World T20 in South Africa and the 2011 ODI World Cup at home.
