World Cup 2019: India thrash Sri Lanka, top points table, to face New Zealand in semi-final

Leeds : Men in blue were in complete command when they thrashed Sri Lanka in their last league match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, securing a top spot on the points table with Australia losing to South Africa. India will now face New Zealand in the semi-final on Tuesday.

With the seven-wicket win, India has secured 15 points.

Indian openers KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma scored ton each to make win a smooth ride for their side. With his ton, Rohit Sharma also slammed a world record of most centuries in a world cup. Rahul's century was brought up with more precision than power, though that was understandable: it was his first ODI hundred since his debut ton against Zimbabwe in 2016.

Winning the toss and chosing to bat first Sri Lanka scored 264 runs for the loss of seven wickets in fixed 50 overs. India chased down the target with 39 balls remaining.
