World Cup 2019: What if India vs New Zealand match gets washed out?

Lords : Virat Kohli's 'Men in Blue' will take on New Zealand in the first Semi-final game of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 on Tuesday. While, fans can't wait to see their side heading for the finals, there are reports which claim downpour on the match day. If rain interferes then what will be done?

In normal league games, rain-interrupted matches provide both the playing team 1-1 point each. But when the game is of semi-final or final then the rules are a bit different.

As per current ICC rules, if the match is washed out on Tuesday then it will be played on the following day, which is the ‘reserve day’.

Unfortunately, the weather forecast for the ‘reserve day’ also shows showers along with overcast conditions.

Now, the case is what happens if the game on reserve day is also washed out?

Well, in that case, India will automatically qualify for the finals as they have more points on the table.

Interestingly the league stage match between India and New Zealand got washed out too. The two sides played each other in the warm-up matches with Kiwi pace battery rattling the Indian batting order.
