FIFA World Cup venues on terrorists target: The US
New Delhi : The US State Department has issued warnings to Americans that terrorists may attack FIFA World Cup venues in Russia. A travel advisory has also been issued in this regards. The advisory states, “Large-scale international events such as the World Cup present an attractive target for terrorists.”
“Although security for the World Cup will be extensive, terrorists may seek to attack event locations such as stadiums and Fan Fest viewing areas, tourist sites, transportation hubs, and other public venues,” the advisory further stated.
This is not the first time the US has issued such an advisory for the Americans. Earlier also they have asked Americans to reconsider their travel plans for Russia.
As per the reports, Jihadis had stated that fans may face a “massacre that has never been seen in history before” at the World Cup.
A picture was also shared which showed ISIS terrorist standing in a stadium looking over a football pitch. He is wearing camouflage, wearing a hood, cradling a submachine, and carrying an assault rifle.
FIFA World Cup stated on June 14 and is hosting best 32 teams from across the world.
